Ernest E. Neeper, age 89 years, of Havre de Grace, MD died on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace. He was the husband of Dorothy (Glasgow) Neeper. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Mr. Neeper was born on Nov. 1, 1921 in Prospect, Harford County a son of the late Howard Burr & Pearl (Griffith) Neeper. He was the office manager with BG&E at their Havre de Grace office and also worked at the Bel Air office retiring after 32 years of service. He owned and operated an accounting and tax service for 49 years from his home. Mr. Neeper served in the US Army during World War 2 . He was a life member of the International Association of Bomb Technicians & Investigators. Mr. Neeper was a former member of Havre de Grace Presbyterian Church and was currently a member of Deer Creek Harmony Presbyterian Church. He was a 1938 graduate of the former Dublin High School and a graduate of the Baltimore Institute with an accounting degree. He was a life member and Past-President of the Havre de Grace Lions Club where he had over 40 years of perfect attendance and was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Award. He was also a member of the Havre de Grace American Legion Post # 47 and the Havre de Grace VFW Post. He was a life member of the PTA of Maryland. In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 daughters- Cheryl N. Moretz and her husband Kenneth of Havre de Grace Susan N. Appell and her husband R. Bruce of Aberdeen. 5 grandchildren- K. Wendy Moretz, Rachel Jarratt and her husband Scott, Richard Moretz and his wife Jill, Ashley and Abby Appell 4 great-grandchildren- Alex & Savannah Jarratt and Dustin & Noah Moretz. Funeral service will be on Saturday, April 30 at 11 AM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main St., Delta, PA. Visitation will be on Friday, April 29 from 7-9 PM and 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be at Slate Ridge Cemetery. His pastor- Reverend Barbara L. Stumpf will officiate.
