So sorry to hear of the passing of Ernie. I knew Ernie from the years we spent in the Newark Police Department. He was a close adviser to the then Police Directer Hubert Williams. Ernie was a standup guy and will be missed by all who knew him. Lt. Dan Daly(Ret)

Uncle Jimmy was the best compare to my Dad, Henry L. Newby, Sr. He was like a 2nd Dad to me, watching over me when I lived in Newark, NJ and he was apart of Newark Police Dept. He will be greatly missed to our family and those who known him. I love you Uncle Jimmy I know you are watching over us just like Aunt Perline, Aunt Lula, and my Dad (Henry), keeping our family strong and together.

I knew Ernie for 28 years that he worked with NJN. He was a true gentleman and professional. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all of us who knew him at NJN.

I'm so sorry to hear of ernie's passing. He was the guard at the NJN studio in Newark for all the years I worked there. We had alot of laughs together. He was a fine man.
