Kathy, Sandra, Karen, and Tina--whom I never had the pleasure to meet.
I worked for Ernest in the Governor's Office of EEO and Affirmative Action, We had two many good times--and hilarious situations--as luck would have it we shared our Capricorn sense of humoral We laughed that I was his elder--by 8 days!!!! and he shared the same birthdate as Lt. Gov. Bill Hobby. so for years after we went to different work--I called him on his birthday and we shared laughter.
I remember you girls--I believe before Karen was born. You'd get all dressed up in beautiful dresses and come to our Christmas party and occasionally come in to the office to say hello to your daddy and give him a kiss. There are just so many fond memories I have of Ernest--and he'd really been on my mind recently. since I moved to the country couple of hours from Austin, we hadn't seen each other--yet if he always answered a call and we never got off the phone w/out several big laughs about events years ago when I worked for him.
Such a wonderful person, a real worker for his community, so smart and dedicated to many causes--and yet what stands out the most, was his absolute love for family!!!!
I know the angels greeted him w/ "well done servant" and they are watching over and guiding him and he will always be watching over and guarding you--just as he'd done all your lives,.
With tears in my eyes, I send you my deepest regards and sympathy and I will keep Ernest in my heart forever for all the times we laughed and for the wisdom he was ALWAYS able to bring to every situation. Susie Kean Tonetti, Gatesville , texas
