Dear Rhoda, family and siblings I send love,memories and condolences from my mother, Beatrice Folsom Simpson who passed on Sept 25, 2004. She never forgot caring for you as a toddler in Wareham and the Cape and remained good friends with your sister, Mary (Heard) and Russ Moerschell. So often Mother mentioned you and the Heard family. Ernie was a loving husband to my dear friend, Rhoda, and a caring father to their children. I was happy to know him and glad that he provided them all with a good life. He will be dearly missed. Greta Fridlund

Ernie was a mentor to many of us, and to me he was a big brother. I learned so much from him about boats, cars, motorcycles; and life. He helped me get my first job with Bechtel and set me on a course that I followed until I retired.I don't know if I said it but, "Thank you, Ernie".
