Not sure what to say?

Dearest Lola... sending my deepest condolences on the loss of Ernie. He was such a kind and gentle man. One couldn't help but love him. I will always remember his warmth, his smile, his compassion for others. But most of all, I will always remember his example of what a loving husband should always be.
His will be missed, but never forgotten. You will be in my prayers!

My prayers and condolences are with you, Lola as you mourn your husband. I met Ernie in 1974 when I started as a secretary in the School of Education. He was always kind and made sure to speak and acknowledge me. I saw him last year at the Emerita luncheon and was touched that he took the time to talk to me. Even though I only saw him once a year, I will miss his presence. Rest on Dr. Proulx. You are loved and will be missed.

Cub games at Wrigley Field, baseball at Loyola picnics, a tiny taste of beer, a Nittany Lions pennant (that I still have), fishing from a small motor boat on a tiny lake in Vilas County Wisconsin, being shown how to clean the fish we caught, teeing off at the public golf course, watching the bats wake up and stretch their wings, playing pool in the cabin in the evening, a New Hampshire accent (that with all of his higher education I don't think he ever fully lost), my son John's baptism...

Ernie,

Rest in Peace young man. You were truly the definition of a GENTLEMAN. You will truly be missed.

A highlight growing up was when Uncle Ernest would fly home to New Hampshire for a visit with family.
A loving memory.

Uncle Ernest will be so missed. I'm very grateful to have known him and that he and Aunt Lola were able to meet my children on our trip in New Hampshire 2004.. We love and miss you Uncle.. Jackie Carroll, Bailey, Logan, Laura Hughes
