SIMPSON, Ernest Jr., of Glen Allen, departed this life September 22, 2009. He was preceded in death by one son. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Simpson; two daughters, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one sister, one aunt, one uncle, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, one daughter-in-law, two sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. Rev. Burt Merriman Jr. officiating. Interment Quantico National Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the funeral home Saturday at 9:45 a.m. Online condolences can be made at www.jenkinsjr.com.

Ernest was a dear Friend at DuPont. I trained him when he first came to work at the plant. We worked together on and off for 30 years. I am so sorry for your loss. He was a great person.
