Not sure what to say?

I will Dearly miss Ernie. I learned so much from Ernie during the summers that I spent at my grandmothers on Long Lake, everything from Making Wine, checking Grandmas blood pressure, baseball, and everything in between. I will never forget Ernie.

Dr.Sowada was the best family doctor we ever had.I come from a family of 13,so I remember the many many visits to his Arcade office.I can still recall every detail in that old office building. My parents,Francis and Lucille Lutz had 11 children.(9 delivered by Dr.Sowada)My parents had 2 boys and then 5 girls in a row. With my dad being a farmer and me the 5th.daughter born,my dad actually asked Dr.Sowada,"but where's my boy you promised?"Dr.Sowada said "don't worry Fran your next 5 children...

Doctor Sowada delivered me almost 60 years ago. Later I walked to his Office on Arcade. He diagnosed my Crohns Diesease at a time when it was a largely unknown illness. My condolences to his family. Dr Sowada will be missed but he leaves a huge legacy of all of us who knew him, who he helped in his practice of medicine.

To Ernie and Dorothea's kids:

Your Dad was a great doctor.

Whenever we were sick or injured, he would assure us we would be better by time we got married. After we got married he assured us we would be better by time we had children.

I have wonderful memories of times at Red Lake, our families together, riding the boat with you over to KC resort to get the car to ride to church or Baudette as the road was under water. Your Dad was a rock. I remember...

Ernie Sowada, a neighbor, friend, and family physician was a part of my older childhood in St. Paul. He and his family lived directly across the street from us and he took care of several medical "emergencies" right there on Co. Rd. B. His family and ours shared lots of good times on Upper Red Lake and he also delivered mine and my husbands two children. He truly was a treasure.

I have two arrow heads that Uncle Ernie gave me that he found on his farm home where he grew up with my mom, his younger sister Irene. I got to know Ernie much better in the late 90's when I spent ten days with him and his other siblings in St Clould. I have offered three Masses for the repose of his soul. May Uncle Ernie rest in peace.

He was a wonderful Uncle. My brother and I visited Minnesota some years back, and Uncle Dr. Ernie was very warm, welcoming, and treated us to some very delicious food.

Dr. Sowada was not only our family doctor for as long as I can remember, but he was also the man who gave me my first job after high school. When he hired me he told me "I would never be able to handle the job". It was his way of challenging me and I took the challenge and loved the job so much it changed my life. When I left to marry, he told me I made the best cup of coffee and would miss me and the coffee. He always tried to be such a tough guy, but I learned he was a gentle and kind...
