Ernie was a great friend and family man. I knew Ernie since 1968 when I started working at D & B. Always a gentleman and always there when you needed help or a word of advice. He will always be remembered by everyone who ever met him.

I had the privilege of knowing Ernie through our mutual association at D&B in the mid to late 60's having met in the New Haven Office and always looked to him for a helpful hand as a young "kid' starting his career , and always getting a quite and sincere hand. I will always think of him fondly and wish his family my heartfelt condolence

40+ years later, I have fond memories of my interactions with Mr. Votto. I met him via my uncle, John K. Zane, who was Mr. Votto's neighbor in East Haven. I remember him as an active Scout leader, and I was just one Scout who benefited from his service. I especially remember Mr. Votto introducing me to the amazing Italian dish of Pasta Fazool (Pasta e Fagioli) and enjoying a bowl of it in his home. Godspeed to a wonderful human being. Mr. Votto was inspirational and beloved to his scouts. I know first hand how my brothers adored him. Cheers to a life well lived, Sir.
