I only knew 'Uncle Ernie' for a short time these past few months, but he was quite a character! My thoughts are with the Whitaker family and the Bennetts.

I have wonderful memories of my Uncle Ernie. When we were young our families were usually together on the weekends. I especially loved the times when we were all together at Camp in Dummerston or Christmas Eve at Grammy's house. He always loved to tease us and give us spankings on our birthdays, even when we were too old for spankings! Rest peaceful Uncle Ernie!

Dear Norma, I was so sorry to read of Ernie's death (I check the Brattleboro Reformer on-line each day). Ralph and I both send our deepest sympathy to you and your family. The class of 1947 was a great class and we always remember our classmates. Please know our prayers and thoughts are with you. With much love, Dottie (Jackman) Hammond

We have known Ernie for years, through working with his 1st wife at the high school. He was a wonderful man and friend, and will be greatly missed by a lot of people all over.
