Dear Uncle Ernie,
It saddens me greatly to hear of your passing. I'm sure that you will be missed from all that knew you, you had that type of charactor, and sense of humor, to have definatley left a huge influence on many! You and Jim were the best uncles anyone could have, and had helped me in the passed more than could be imagined. Thank you and rest in peace.

Dear Ernie,
Living in Eugene I was not aware of you passing away. A long time friend just sent me your notice. I'm so sorry I couldn't be there for your celebration.
You and I went back to 1957 when I married your brother, Jim. You were a real comfort when Jim joined the Navy. Your mom and dad, Mee and Fielda were so special to me, also. I spent many hours with them playing cards and having dinner. I really miss them all.
I'm so sorry you suffered so long, but now you are...

Ernie, you were always on top of my list of people who other people should know. You had a way of making a person happy even in down times. I remember your sense of humor, your tavern in LaGrande, and your other dog Bogie. Your were my favorite brother in law. Rest in peace
and keep everyone laughing okay??

Good bye sweet heart, you are missed. Love, Ei, Shadow and Breezy
