We always enjoyed having Ernie read with as at Magnolia Elementary school for Reading to Kids from 2009 - 11. His influence and joy of reading will last throughout the lives of the 3rd, 4th and 5th graders at Magnolia, and with me and the other volunteers who met and read with Ernie.

I will always remember Ernie for his kind-hearted manner and gentlemanly spirit. He was genuinely kind to me and my family. He stopped by my office in Westwood several times over the years just to check in and pass on his best wishes to the Carson family. Ernie will be dearly missed!
