Not sure what to say?

Ernesto F. Betancourt was the most formidable activist / thinker of the Cuban Exile Diaspora. He would have to be recognized as the cleanup hitter in the Washington, D.C. team that for half a century 1960 - 2010, advocated and defended the cause of freedom for the Cuban people.

Ernesto taught me much, honored me with his friendship, and as a founding member of the Cuban Democratic Alliance (Alianza Democratica) encouraged and supported all plans and programs advanced for Cuba...

May his soul rest in peace in the company of the Lord. He was a real Cuban Patriot and he will be remembered by many as such.

I'm very fortunate to have known Ernesto. He was my Oracle on many fronts, a brilliant thinker always ready to generously help anyone navigate through intricate circumstances. Celebrate his life - for he certainly influenced for good the lives of many, and that is the measure of a man to emulate.

I met Ernesto in 1994 when I went to his home to interview him for a documentary. Since then he was very supportive of what I was doing, trying to educate about Cuba, never hesitating to provide information from his vast experiences. It is an honor to have known Ernesto Betancourt, a most honorable man. His accomplishments could fill many lifetimes and his ability to apply and share his knowledge continuously amazed me. Ernesto, thank you!

I am a great admirer of Ernesto's and will always be. He taught me a lot, and it was my privilege to hear him discuss and analyze some of the more importabt issues of our time.

He was a treasure trove of knowledge and wisdom regarding Cuba, specially over the past nearly 60 years.

His unique combination of extraordinarily deep intellect with a most impish sense of humor made him a special pleasure to be with.

I join many others in missing him.
