ERNESTO VALENZUELA MEDRANO SR. age 90 of Las Cruces entered the golden gates of heaven to join his loving wife, on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born November 7, 1930 in Hanford, California to Antonio and Remedios Valenzuela Medrano, “Neto”, as he was fondly known to family and friends was a man of many talents, contractor, musician and a painter of arts, just to name a few. His passion in life was just being an amazing father and grandfather. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.


Those left to mourn his passing include two sons, Ernest Medrano of Las Cruces and Carlos Medrano (Bernice) of Albuquerque; a daughter, Irene Misquez (Fred) also of Las Cruces; a sister, Antonia Medrano-Mendoza of California. Other survivors include seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren as well as two great-great grandchildren. Ernesto was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Juanita S. Medrano on February 22, 2018.


Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, capacity of attendees will be limited and everyone is asked to please wear a mask. Thank you.


Visitation for Mr. Medrano will begin at 9:30 AM Monday, February 15, 2021 at St. Genevieve Catholic Church, 100 S. Espina Street with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately thereafter. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest alongside his wife.


Serving as casket bearers will be Carlos J., Gabriel, and Sebastian Medrano, Freddie Eugene and Fred Misquez and Michael Portillo.
