Not sure what to say?

Not a Sunday goes by, when I think of sermons that our 'Ernie' would deliver, and how he made us Think about what it means to be a Christian in everyday life. His legacy of love lives on in us. God Bless ! As he used to quote Jesus: "I am the vine and you are the branches; he who abideth in me, and I in him, will bear much fruit."

Lynn, Julie and Mark,
Your Dad was a very special person in my life. I can still remember a house call he made to invite us to his new congregation about 1956. I was the first Acolyte in the old Fire Station. Ernie taught me and passed me in confirmation class, and I always enjoyed his sermons - he is without a doubt the best Preacher I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. He was kind enough to fly to La Crosse, Wis in 1973 to marry Leanna and I, now 43 years and counting. And...

It was a pleasure to have heard Rev Schmidt preach at both Gloria Dia and at Ocean City,, he will be missed

Mark,
I didn't know your father but I know he was a great man who did a lot for the elderly.Reading about him and what he did was really amazing.
I hope you and your family get through this difficult time.

Lynn, Julie and Mark,
A legend has passed. A man who helped shape many lives and gave opportunity to succeed to so many. For all the years I worked at LWCC your dad always treated me with respect and even more importantly like one of the family. I truly mourn with you and pray that you find the closure and peace that knowing he is now at peace can bring you. I will always be grateful for knowing him. God bless.
Sandy

I had the incredible blessing of growing up in the church community he founded, having him by my side during some life-changing situations, and being married by him. He taught me by example how to endure the curveballs life throws at us, how to remain positive and how to use our time to help others in whatever ways we can. He was one of a...

May the Reverend Ernie Schmidt's family know that he carried many of us through our good and our bad days for he was there when we celebrated and when we cried. He helped make me smile and laugh, but most of all, feel good about myself when things were not so good, even for him too for he had compassion.

Rest in peace Uncle Ernie. You will be remembered forever Dan Terhark
