I knew Doc since I got to Germany in April of 2006. He took me under his wing and showed me the ropes in Germany and always looked out for me in Afghanistan. I remember the entire platoon when we were in the field training and trying to sleep when he was in the same room, he was the only one getting any sleep, he snored so loud, and when he stopped, we all got concerned. After a few months of his snoring it just was normal, if he wasn't snoring, everyone would wake up. He helped my wife alot...

Hello,

I don't know Errol, but when I chose to honor a randomly-chosen national hero on my Facebook account, he was chosen for me. I'm taking the time to learn more about Errol in order to more fully appreciate his sacrifice and want to share what I find with my friends.

To his family and friends, I extend my profound and sincere sympathies. The nation as a whole -- and myself in particular -- are grateful for all that he gave up in order to help ensure our way of life...

To the family of Sgt. Errol James:
Errol gave the ultimate sacrifice and will be held in the hearts of Americans forever. I cannot and will not let our fallen heroes be forgotten. My deepest sympathy to you. "Some gave all."

As a Soldier and Cruzian myself, my heart goes out to you and your family. God has a reason for everything and he has called Errol home to a better place. Just know that he loved doing what he did for God and country and his efforts will never be forgotten. God bless you and your family and America!

Errol, and I were roommates at Ft. Bragg, when we were in 2/325AIR from 2001-2004. At times he was my best friend and other times my worse enemy. I have alot of wonderful memories or Errol, like the times we spent in Mertle Beach, or the late nights out at the clubs. The only bad memories were of the times I was trying to sleep but all I heard was his loud snoring. I'll miss you more than you'll ever know.
