I was told of Essie's passing today and am heartbroken. We were in the academy together but didn't get to know each other until she transferred to the 5th district. It was an honor to know her! I really enjoyed working together with her in the zone car and became good friends. I saw her at Metro right before her surgery for her broken bones she got in the car accident and talked to her on the phone after but I have not spoken to her in a couple of years and now it's to late. God Bless...

I just learned of Essie's passing. I went through the academy with her, what a wonderful person. What a great loss.

I just heard the news and certainly would like to offer my condolences to all of you. I remember having the mother skating talks in the rink lobby. I was shocked by the news but recognize that God must have needed her more than we did. May His peace surround you guys right now!

Essie was a pleasure to work with she was a fun person to be around. My thoughts & prayers are with the family. May God Bless you all

I knew her as Detective Howard! She had a beautiful smile and a really nice way about her. I'm sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in God and His love for you, now and as you go on.

I will always remember Essie as being a petite and spunky woman! Everytime I saw her she always greeted you with her smile. I remember being a rookie and Essie giving me great advice about being a woman on the police department. She demanded respect and received it in return. Thank you Essie. May God grant your family comfort and peace during this time.

My condolences and prayers go out to the family. Essie was a classy lady and she will be missed. I knew Esssie at the RTA and Cleveland Police Department.
