Jones, Ester Merle, age 89, of Wilsonville, AL went home to be with the Lord on June 4, 2015. She was born on January 7, 1926 in West Blocton, AL to Samuel and Jennie White. She was a devoted wife and mother who embodied Christ in everything she said and did. She was a true reflection of the woman who was described in Proverbs. She was a matriarch to her family and friends and touched so many lives. Her sweet smile and kind spirit will truly be missed by all.
Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 11:00am at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Fortenberry and Rev. Darrell Sammons officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Gardens.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Kincaid Jones; daughter, Elaine Davenport; daughter-in-law, Patricia Jones. She is survived by her brother, Samuel "Hershel" White; her children, Wayne Jones (Gladys), Judy Jones Gallups (Marlin), William "Billy" Jones, Michael Jones (Sybil), Robert Jones (Judy), Gary Jones (Kay); 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.

Mrs. Jones was a kind, sweet, happy lady. Always a smile on her face and encouraging words to say. I'm glad I had the privilege of knowing her. Praying that the family will find peace in memories and knowing she was a child of the King.

Grandma will be missed
