I was heartbroken to hear of Ethan's death. My sons and I worked with him at REI. He was such a funny and energetic young man who was well-liked by his co-workers and customers alike. His presence will be greatly missed.

I did not know Ethan well. I hardly knew Ethan at all. I had only worked with him a couple of times at REI but he certainly made an impression on me. What wonderful energy he had. I could see a loving, caring, and thoughtful young man. And, wow,he was funny. I am so very saddened by this loss. I hope that this darkness leads to light.

I am simply in shock. I just wish I couldve said goodbye to him one last time. Ethan was my very first Jewish friend. I had met him at the JCC day camp program before I even started elementary school. I remember playing in the sandbox with him and the other boys when we were very young. We grew apart as we got older, but I always considered him a friend of mine, and I always will. He was always a handful, making the young counselors run around in circles in failed efforts trying to control...
