Not sure what to say?

I graduated from Lawrence in 2013. I remember having my relationship problems and parent problems. Typical for a preteen/teenager. I remember meeting Dr. Ethan Schafer, if my memory is right his office was in the 9-12 commons. At first I was worried that he was just another grown up that wouldn't understand,or would think my "problems" were miniscule. I was wrong. I told him about my boyfriend at the time, and how the things he did and said hurt me.He told me he had a son, and he'd be very...

Dear Gail and Joe and family, We have just learned of your loss of Ehan whom we remember with great fondness when he and our Alison were good friends and classmates in Rocky River OH. Our deepest condolences to you and your family. I am heartened to learn of your Ethan's life devotion to children and their unique needs. We hope you may feel how far reaching Ethan's life and your loss are felt. We grieve with you.

Dr. Schafer was obviously very bright and had excellent clinical skills, but what impressed me was his ability to put things into perspective, to make sense of some complicated concepts and to point out the positives. I knew Dr. Ethan professionally, as he helped my daughter tremendously when she was younger. His standard of care, kindness, and wisdom impacted my family in such amazing ways.
My heart hurts for his family, friends colleagues, and campers. Please accept my deepest condolences.

Dear Joe, Gaile, and the entire Schafer family,

Please accept our sincerest condolences on Ethan's passing. The service today was incredibly moving and spoke volumes in regards to how one person can impact so many lives in so many different ways. While we were only able to meet Ethan and his family on a few occasions when they visited you, it was obvious that he was a fantastic father to his boys and a loving and caring son. We hope you are able to find peace during this most...

Our family knew Ethan professionally as he worked with our son when our son was younger. He was the perfect person to help our son, so kind and caring, and always putting things in perspective. He will be truly missed.

My deepest sympathy to all. I knew Dr. Schafer professionally through my son who he worked with. I have the utmost respect for his work and dedication to children and families. He will be missed.
