Ethel was a huge influence on me. Much of what I know about music comes from Ethel. And she had the patience of Job. I don't know if she ever missed a birthday. We will really miss her.

This lady was responsible for instilling in me the joy and importance of music. I loved her. 'Holding the little birdie in the basket' when we were in choir was a very important lesson in learning how to present yourself properly when singing. I am 58 now and it was only a few years ago that I saw her in Woodslee at an event and she remembered me right away - asked about my family....what a lovely person. What a wonderful life!! While I had met Ethel a number of years ago with my mother Jean Campbell Allison Holman(her parents were Tom and Bella Allison from Alvinston) I really did not know her. But from conversations with my mother about her phone visits with Ethel, I know she was a quality human being who gave so much to those around her. My thoughts are with you as you enjoy the memories you have from your time with Ethel.

My sympathy Tom and family. Miss Allison served her community for many, many years. As a teacher; with pitch pipe in hand,she introduced thousands of kids to the world of music. As a human being; this kind considerate lady lived her life as a wonderful example to all who knew her.
