Ethel Keesler Gilmour de Uribe

Though it has been many years since I saw Ethel, I have always remembered and appreciated her warmth and sincerity as a friend in our young days in Charlotte. In 1962, the year we graduated from college, Ethel took the time and made the effort to attend my wedding in York, England as my maid of honor. She honored me with one of her early works, a block print of St. Francis. I have carried that picture from England to California to South Carolina, where it hangs in my beautiful Lowcountry...

Ethel, my cousin, was a very special person and a very special friend. I had the great privilege of talking with her last month. I will miss her greatly.
