So sorry to see this just now. Ethel and my mom Lucille Lyon were friends since school years. She wondered when the Christmas letters stopped coming, but has lost her hearing, so wasn't able to try to contact Ethel. I remember her also as a very kind woman. So sorry for your loss.

Picked up the phone today to call Ethel and, upon learning her number was disconnected, I followed up here because I knew she had been ill. There is a picture from the 1970s that I treasure; with Wayne ("Frosty") and Ethel, Paul and Carol Kvaltine, and my own parents, Abe and Lu Stutzman. After my father's passing in 2003, my wife Ellen and I kept up with Ethel -- mainly in exchanging Christmas cards -- and more recently with phone calls.
