Ethel Pryor Little was born January 29, 1926 and entered eternal rest on June 22, 2018. She was born to the late Eva M. Whittle and grew up in the Whittle’s Mill area.  Ethel was the last living child of 14 children that were born to Eva Whittle.  Her siblings were her twin brother Robert, Milton, Sadie, Hazel, Cornelia, Elva Jane, Willie Lee, Joe Cephas, Freddie, William, Henry, Edith and Annie Mae.  She was married to Wyallie Pryor, Sr.  and had 6 children and then married Daniel Little and had 5 children.  They both preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by two children: Wyallie Pryor, Jr. and Martha Jane Perry and one great grandson,  Jafond Perry. She was a very hard-working woman and did the best she could with what she had.  Everyone who knew her will remember her tenacity, strong will and quick wit!


She leaves to mourn her loss 9 children: Robert James Pryor (Faye Campbell) of Petersburg, VA, Bobby Lee Pryor (devoted friend Frances Spencer) of South Hill, VA, Roger Pryor (Kristina Lopez) of Colonial Heights, VA, Mary Pryor of Utah, Danny Little (Deborah Little) of Virginia Beach, VA, Lucy Hill (Lamont Hill) of Palmyra, VA, Daniel Little (Michelle Little) of Virginia Beach, VA, Paul Little (Linda Little) of Petersburg, VA and Valene Pickren of Richmond, VA.  


 She also leaves a host of grandchildren – Roger Steve Pryor, Marcia Pryor (Tracey Jo Pryor), Amecca Perry, Rodney Pryor (Alynne Pryor), Brian Pryor, Ryan Nicole Little, Justin Little, Ashley Little, Danielle Little, Sarah Little, Davis Pickren, Bobby Mitchell, LaWanz Perry, Brittany Rice, Nicholas Collier, Lauren Childers (Cody Childers), RosaLee Hill, Keyonta Hunley, Misty Bianca Hunley and Latisha Neal; great grandchildren- Timothy Hunley, Savion Hunley, Javonte Hunley, Shawn Hunley, Jeremiah Hunley, Carter Hunley, Christian Hunley, Aubrey Hanks, Taydem Childers, Myles Childers, Alliyah Lewis, Quentin, Jordyn Thomas and Kynnedy Thomas, Zachary Simpson, Noah Banks and Cailyn Banks; a former daughter-in-law and family friend, Renita Hunley and a former son-in-law Jason Collier; and a host of nieces , nephews, cousins and friends to mourn her loss.


Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. at Temple Gate RZUA Church on Wednesday, June 27. Viewing will be at on Tuesday June 26 from 12 noon to 5 p.m.  at the Chapel of Oris P. Jones Funeral Establishment and one hour prior to the service at the church.

My thoughts and prayers to the Pryor/Little family. Thinking back to the good ole days with a smile, she made the best tomato sandwich! :-). I know your hearts are heavy but rejoice in knowing that joy will come because she is at peace. "goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes, because for those who love with heart and soul, there is no separation".....May GOD comfort and strengthen you during your time of need.
