Ethel MBE McGuire

I knew Ethel when I worked at ACTCOSS in Canberra and she was on the Board. I found her a very fair person fighting for Human Rights wherever she could. I used Ethel's life in a psychological profile study I did whilst studying for my grad diploma in Adult Education and was fascinated by her life. Her first encounter with a social worker as she tested her mother's mantelpiece as they depended on welfare to survive. Her father was 'shell shocked' from the First World War and unable to work....
