Etta S. Estes, 75, of Charlottesville, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2012.

She was born on February 11, 1937, the daughter of the late Richard W. and Lillie D. Sprouse. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elzie B. Estes Sr.; and a granddaughter, Amanda Dawn Palmer. Etta is survived by her eight children, Pete Estes and his wife, Virginia, of Norfolk, Shelby Cox and her husband, Buddy, of Lynchburg, Joyce Hensley and her boyfriend, Randolph Raines, Mary Dudley and her husband, Earl, of Schuyler, Elzie Estes Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Fluvanna, Kenny Estes and his wife, Laurie, of Dyke, Thelma Fox of Oregon, and Johnny Estes and his wife, Sue, of Ruckersville; two sisters, Rosella Morris and Eunice Williams; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a very special neighbor, Betty Shifflett; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Etta was a great mother, wife, sister, grandmother, aunt, homemaker, neighbor, and friend. The family wishes to extend appreciation and gratitude to the entire staff of The Laurels. A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 14, 2012, in the chapel of Teague Funeral Home with Pastor James Bryant officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.
