Charleston, South Carolina
Eugene Keith Abernathy, II, 52, of Charleston, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016.
The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Keith Abernathy, II, are invited to a gathering of friends from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway.
Eugene, or “Rooster” as he was known, was born in Charleston on September 5, 1963, a son of the late Mildred Bradley Curry and Eugene Keith Abernathy. He worked as an iron worker and welder, but at heart, he was an artist, and a remarkable one at that. Eugene was known for his fun quit-wittedness and the ability to make people laugh, even at sometimes inappropriate times. He danced to his own drum, which was part of his charm.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Ruby B. Abernathy; his son, Joshua E. Abernathy; his step father, Ron Curry, and his sisters, April Tubbs, Vickie Gammon and Jan Cook. He is predeceased by both of his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Eugene’s memory to the Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org.

I'm so sorry for your loss our prayers are with you.
17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.-2 Corinthians 4:17-18
