Eugene L. Barone

Dover - Eugene L. Barone, Jr., age 71, peacefully passed away, surrounded by his loving family on March 31, 2021.

Gene was born in Wilmington to the late Eugene Sr. and Regina Barone. He proudly served in the US Navy. Gene was a dedicated employee of Resource Delaware, retiring as branch manager after 30+ years.

Gene was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. He was a tremendous family man and all around good person. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Gene is survived by his loving wife of 21 years Beverly Johnson Barone; children Brian Barone (Gina), Vincent Barone (Dorothy), Rocco Barone, Frederick Warrington (Jennifer), and Kimberly Bechara (Joe); grandchildren Matthew, Mia, Vito, Vinnie, Carli, Devon, Bri, Cohen, Madison, Sammy, Christian, Joey, and Kaiden; 4 great grandchildren; siblings Chrissy, Donna, Renee, Michelle, Francis, Michael, and Maury. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Barbara Barone.

A funeral service with Navy Honors will be held April 9, 2021, 12noon, at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear DE, 19701.

Mr Barone, I had the pleasure of having your boys as my best friends. You were a second dad to me. You coached me at baseball, took me to the games, you were just a down to earth great guy.
