Mr. Eugene B. Benson Jr.

Benson, Eugene B., Jr., 68, of Glen Allen, VA, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his children, Donna Durrett (Hunter, Jr.) of Bumpass and Dale Benson (Melissa) of Milford; his grandchildren, Kristina Durrett and Dale Benson, Jr.; 1 brother, Bobby Benson of Glen Allen and a sister, Frances Thorpe of Colonial Beach. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Sr., and Carlotta Benson; 2 brothers, Paul Sr., and Franklin Benson. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Aug. 2 from 6-8 pm in the Nelsen Funeral Home - Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy, Ashland, VA. Graveside services will be held 1 pm, Monday, Aug. 3 at Pohick Episcopal Church in Lorton, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the American Heart Association or the American Lung Foundation.
