Not sure what to say?

My condolences to the entire Bowler Family. Mr. Bowler (or "E.B" as we used to refer to him because he always signed hall passes "E.B.") was one of my favorite teachers at CPHS. I liked chemistry, but physics was my all-time favorite class (HS and college). I really enjoyed knowing him as a person, and he was an excellent teacher as well. A bit of humorous trivia: when students were not paying attention, he used to stop his lecture and threaten to make us outline the chapter. Often,...

Jane and Family, I am so sorry for the loss of your dad. Your family will be in my prayers during this difficult time. Becky (Ring) Farr

I never much liked Chemistry or Physics and in return they treated me badly, too. But, Mr. Bowler opened up the impenetrable so that I could muddle through. I caught him early in his career(CPHS 1964). Even then, one could see that teaching was his calling. Generations of students are in his debt. RIP

I am saddened to hear of Genes passing. He helped me so much in my own teaching career. I will always think of him as my friend and mentor. Rest in peace Gene. Mike Solow

Mary - Sympathies to you in the loss of your husband Gene. We lived next door on Emerson St from 1971-1975. May the Lord give you his peace and comfort during this difficult time.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Mr. Bowler was an amazing teacher that I didn't get to meet until my senior year. His was one of the most enjoyable classes I had that year and am so very grateful for what I learned from him -- including how to use a slide rule! He didn't allow calculators the first few weeks of class. Eternal rest grant unto him. May he rest in peace. Amen Diane Anderson Beckwith CPHS '78

With our deepest sympathy for the loss of your husband, father and grandfather. We lived across the street from you on Emerson. Love and prayers
