Read MoreI am so sorry to hear of his passing. Gene was, with no exaggeration, one of 5 people who are the reason I lived to see the age of 20. I'm sure I'm not the only one with a similar story. His kind nature, great sense of humor and genuinely good heart was one of the brightest spots at one of my darkest times. I haven't been one of 'his school kids' for 30 years, but I think of him often.

Donna & Jimmy, I am so very sorry for your loss, he was such a fabulous man, giving, kind and compassionate. Although we didn't speak that often after your move to California, I always knew that my "Bridge over Troubled Waters" was just a phone call away.
