We were so sorry to learn of Gene's death. He was always such a fine gentleman. Bruce remembers working with Gene years ago on Chapman Highway, and we always enjoyed seeing Gene at Burgin Dodge. We enjoyed worshipping with you at Meridian. Know that you continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.

We were saddened by the news of Gene's passing; it seems like only last week that we saw you and Gene. When Gene died, we were in Florida visiting Amanda (Mandy) and her family for a belated Christmas. We wanted to 'be there' for you and your children, but that was impossible. We extend our sympathy and our love to all of your family, with the joy of memories that will never cease. Mother, Katie, loved you all so much, but especially Betty and Gene...Spencer and I add that and the love for your children that he/we taught and love...Steve's house where we live..Gene's parents visiting my parents home when I was a child...Gene, Darrahl, Homer and Jay...they were so much older than I was and I adored those good-looking guys who were so polite and kind... BJ, Steve, Sherry, and Sandy. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I will truly miss your dad he was the only one who believed in me when I moved to TN and gave me a great job and friendship. I loved Mr. B. as if he were my dad. Many wonderful memories are shared with the entire family. You all treated me like family not an employee.
I will never forget he could only look at me with one eye... because I was ugly. Ha!

Gene was one of my best friends. We always laughed when we were together, being with Gene made life have real meaning. I sure will miss him. He was a true friend. I know he is at peace now.

Betty, Dave and I had just come back from visiting his bother Jack Teague in Okachobee, Florida, when we heard about Gene"s death. We were unable to come to the funeral. To Gene's family, I was very sorry to hear of Gene's passing. I grew up being around Gene, and he was so influential in my brother's (T. Lynn White) life. We tragically lost Lynn in July of 2008. It is with sadness we learned of your father, Gene's passing.
It is with gladness we think of the many reunions Gene will enjoy on the other side!
Our father, Jim Kerr, was a big fan of Gene. At a funeral a couple of years ago he ran across a room to shake Genes hand after his own battle with Alzheimer’s & memory loss had erased many of his friends.

My husband Bill and I loved Gene dearly. Bill, before he died used to visit Gene almost daily at the dealership and they spent many hours discussing family. I am sure all of you know that you were very deeply loved. Gene will be sadly missed.

My family knew the Burgin Family from the Beaumont area. Gene would stop by later to visit. I was just a child. He was so nice, pleasant and good looking. It was a great family and Gene's visits were always special.
