Not sure what to say?

From a former Phi Alph, now in California, who remembers you well. Unfortunately we didn´t keep in touch so I never got the heads up on AAPL and AMZN. I bot these years later

To the family of Gene Callahan.

I am very sorry for your lose. Although we lost touch some years back there is not a day that goes by that I dont think of him.

He was a true friend and with out his help I would never have the life I have today.

Best Wishes,
Jim Kennedy

I knew Gene during the years he gave so much to the Village of Oak Park. Gene's foresight, synergized by his Board colleagues, set this community on a path of decency. He was always warm and welcoming and he has continued to remain a presence here, long after he and Mary Jean moved to Washington Island. Barry and I send our deepest sympathy. Gene lives on in our hearts.

To Gene's Loving Family:

He was a man to be admired for his many contributions. made selflessly and in many ways. I knew Gene for some time as a regular at The Wrigley Meeting- a MUST Make on Wednesday's @ 5:30 PM. I last phomnd him from Sister Bay to Wahington Isle, but alas he was soon about his many travels elsewhere. He was Exceptionally helpful to me... and many others... from the '70's until we both retired from work, but not life. "Ave atque vale !" "Life is changed, not ended...

Mary Jean & Family,

Although very much saddened by your loss, Corina and I remember the friendships we enjoyed with you, Gene, and the Pi Alphs at Loyola U.,and beyond. Gene's accomplishments were many, but they were eclipsed by his kindness and concern for his family and friends.

You all are in our thoughts and prayers as we remember a wonderful man.

God bless.

Gene arrived in our Village at a critical time in our history and proved to be an important force for our survival. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
Blessings to his family!
Marvin Bud Worley, A.I.A.

Dear Callahan family,
I never met Eugene, but by reading through his story, I think I can see lovely reflections in his sons of the special person he must have been. My heart goes out to all of you at this time of loss. With love and sympathy,
Pam Mahling

Dear Mary Jean
I am so sorry to read of Gene's passing. He was a beacon of light leading so many of us to good work in our communities and political life. While I haven't seen Gene for years, he was always an inspiration to me and my late husband, Marvin Rosner. I didn't know you lived on Washington Island as I have a home in Sister Bay since 1973. I am very familiar with Scandia Village and would like to send them a donation in Gene's memory. I will be in Sister Bay, God Willing, all...

I so enjoyed meeting John on the road when we each walked our dogs. He always stopped to say hello and visit, having genuine interest in our family. I'm sorry for your loss. His light will continue to shine long after he's gone.
