I was saddened to hear of Mr Conrottos passing. I was in several of his classes at Oakdale and enjoyed them very much. (I majored in English, but didn't become a teacher).

Mr Conrotto was a great man and teacher. We were assigned words to present in pictoral form. My word was VISTA. So I presented a beautiful mountain view.I thought it was good. A classmate, who was football player, had the word ENORMITY. He presented a huge picture of Dick Butkus. Mr. Conrotto was very amused as were we all. He made learning interesting and fun. Condolences to the family and RIP sir.

Heartfelt condolences to Mr Conrotto's Family. I was born and raised in Gilroy but moved to Gustine, near Modesto, in 2000.
When I saw his name at the end of a very well written and well thought out Letter to the Editor in the Modesto Bee, I knew why it was so memorable.
I found more of his works, and enjoyed them immensely.
R.I.P. Mr. Conrotto

You were an interesting teacher.
Everything I know about Shakespeare, I learned from you.

I didn't know Eugene for long, but for the time I did know him, I learned quite a but from him. He was always very kind (and usually sarcastic, but that's just his character), he always had something wise to say. He was one of those people that if they spoke, you listened because whatever it was, was important. I always enjoyed his company and the many conversations we had. He was such a light in my life, my heart and prayers goes out to his family.

He was a fantastic teacher and person who touched so many lives (he would say that's a cliche). He's the reason I chose to become an English teacher. Not a day goes by that I don't think of something he taught me, especially to be fair, generous, and tolerant. (Mr. C, I am trying to show, not tell) What a legacy he leaves behind. My sincere condolences to his family.
