Not sure what to say?

I was a student in Mr Creedon´s 9th grade English class at Iona Prep in 1965. He was perhaps the most caring and positive teacher I have ever known, always encouraging me to use my imagination and develop my writing skills. As I look back on my own career in advertising (as a Creative Director at Viacom) and later in the mental health field as a Psychotherapist, I credit Mr Eugene Creedon with helping me to believe in myself. It is a gift which I have valued throughout my life, and which, in...

What I wrote in Sept 2019 stands. An important role model in my life circa 1955 at Montclair Playground

This is July 2019 and for some strange reason he came randomly to mind for no reason. So I went on line: mirable dictum here he was.

He was a boyhood hero for me as the Montclair
Playground director probably circa 1952.
I see now we were 6/7 years apart then.
I remember his kindness more than anything and to this moment can see his teenage face.
Even more moving, I myself became a director of that Montclair Playground the summer of 1958 after graduating from NQHS that year....

My sincere sympathy to Kathy , Susan, Erin and Patrick on the passing of Eugene RIP. I am one of his cousins from Co Armagh Ireland and met him and his brother Larry on my visits to Auntie Mary in the late 60's. I had the pleasure of hosting Susan for a few days when she was studying in Limerick .He came across as a very sincere person who was really dedicated to teaching. I am sure he made a lasting impression on those who came under his care.
My sympathy also to his brother Bernard and...

It was my privilege to know Mr Creedon when he was at Broad Meadows and as both assistant and Superintendent of Schools. A highly gifted and deeply caring educator, countless students have benefited from his dedication to their learning and lives. May Heaven richly reward his unselfish commitment to the betterment of his community and its future. May he rest in peace. Condolences to his family at this sad time.

So sorry for your loss. What a good long life Eugene enjoyed. Many cannot say the same. He was one of those especially strong. Ps. 90:10

Mr. Creedon brought an indescribable warmth and presence to
St. Ann School (1969-1971).

His personal and professional acknowledgement of each student
mornings outside his office door is a cherished memory of mine
(and I imagine of fellow students).

He, Sister Agnes, Sister Miriam, Sister Maureen, Mrs. Perry and
the entire staff worked joyfully together for the education, enrichment
and spiritual formation of the entire community in the loving spirit of...
