Not sure what to say?

Dr Crews was my psychiatrist when I was a sad, awkward, lonely high school student in Atlanta. This was back when psychiatrists ("shrinks!" as he acknowledged with that unforgettable laugh) actually spent long sessions doing psychotherapy with their patients. Monday afternoon from 4 to 5 was the highlight of my week. Dr Crews gave me the loving acceptance that was painfully missing from my life. "You´re a diamond in the rough!" he once exclaimed. That may have been the kindest thing anyone...

I am very sad to hear about the loss of Dr. Crews. He was truly a special person. I will never forget him. Alisa Estes Gunter

I was just "googling" Gene to see about referring a patient to him, to sadly learn of his death earlier this year. My prayers, thoughts, and best wishes to you, Jane, and your whole family. I have not stayed in touch, but remember many good times in the Southern Psychiatric Association together. I loved and will miss Gene's good humor, sanguinary outlook, and infectious laugh.

I was shocked and saddenned to learn of DR.Crews's demise and greatly extend my sympathies to his wife and daughters. He was a wonderful doctor, so caring , and very non- judgemental. He had a wonderful laugh and out look and made me feel very at ease. It is a great loss to many.

One of the most kindhearted souls ever.

I had the good fortune to meet and become friends with Gene in med school. What a marvelous person we have lost from our midst. Only learned of his passing today. I am so sorry. Rest in peace, my friend. You have done much for so many.

Gene was a wonderful person whom we will always remember fondly. We spent our medical school days and residency together as close friends. We regretted Gene and Jane moving away.
We will always hold his memory dear in our hearts.

My deepest condolences to Dr. Crews' wife, his daughters and family. He was an incredible human being. The course of my life was forever changed having been blessed with his skilled psychiatric care and touched by his keen wisdom & compassion. I will always remember the life lessons and skills he shared with me.
