Not sure what to say?

I remember him from Emmet He was my gym teacher. Such a wonderful person. A nice smile. My sister and I got together with him for lunch in Nov 2013. It was great seeing him again after all these years He will be missed

A lot of memories in gym classes at Emmett and as a patrol boy which he was in charge of.
He was a mench.
Condolences to the family.
RIP Gene
Allen Jacobs, Emmett class of '57

I was fortunate to be a camper at Decoma Day Camp for many summers in the late 1950s to the early 1960s, and for several of those years the driver of the yellow bus that picked me up and took me to my home in Skokie was Deutschy. He always had a smile on his face and a good word to say. He and Decoma really did make summers so special and memorable for hundreds of kids.
Alev ha-shalom, Deutschy. And thank you.

The light in the world is a bit dimmer with the loss of such a larger-than-life, kind and wonderful man! Both of my kids spent years as campers and CITs at Decoma Day Camp! Deutschy knew every camper and most of the parents by name. He was warm, welcoming, positive and created a fun, safe environment for kids to learn and grow! On behalf of the entire Kolber family, please accept our heart-felt sympathy! Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time!

He was a great man and mentor to all who knew him. He made a lasting impression on my life I see with my gym teacher at Emmett school He will be greatly missed my deepest sympathy to his family

Some of my fondest memories were related to Deutschy and Milty. I sent my children to Decoma to continue my memories and I saw my camp pictures on the walls 30 years later. Now my granddaughter is attending camp wiTh tHe Deutsch family. Today I heard of the passing and it hurts to realize such a fun loving man is gone. You will not be forgotten. Rest In Peace Larry shtulman

To The Deutsch Family,

Our sympathy to the entire family. Gene was and will be Decoma Day Camp for always. We only have and will always have fond memories of him.

Deutschy was and will always be one of a kind! He has always set the bar high with his love of family and passion for his camp and campers. He will be truly missed!

Deepest sympathies to the family. I went to Decoma in the 1950's. Still have my camp picture from 19952. Loved camp and looked forward to going. When I see bus or pass by the camp grounds it brings back fond memories. Uncle Milty and Deutschy were great role models.
