Today ... quite out of the blue.. I so fondly remembered Betty and Gene Diggs, there extreme kindness and friendship of me, A young man at the the time! I was impressed that people of such social status and intelligence would welcome me, a young and not very privileged 20 something young man, and treat me as a friend. I worked with Gene when he was Superintendent in East Hartford and was always in awe of his mind and flare for getting new things for the district. We worked many hours on a government grant (weekends and nights too) and Dr. Diggs was very grateful for all we did under his guidance. I'm sorry for your loss the world has become a better place because of his outstanding mind and ideas. My prayers to the family. God Bless you all.
