Read MoreMy parents bought a painting by Mr. Dobos in Palm Springs in the late 1960s. It is called the Cocktail Party, and it was a treasured possession of my mom's, in particular. She died yesterday and it led me to look for information about the artist. So sorry to learn he passed away this year.

Helen: We were sorry to hear of Dobie's passing - our sympathies are with you and your family. Dobie had a great sense of humor, particularly on the golf course. He would often stand behind me holding a club as I was lining up a putt. Then when I would start to strike the ball, the club in his hand would "suddenly" slip and fall on the green!
