Eugene Gerard Dursin

Mr D. Was my favorite teacher at Sterling Elementary in Sterling Alaska he was also my basketball coach. He was a huge part of the person I have become and I will never forget him. The world has lost a wonderful person but God has gained a beautiful angel. My condolences to Mrs. Dursin who was also one of my teachers at Soldotna Jr High I send my love and prayers of peace to you. Rest in peace Mr. D !! All of my love, Sondra Reyes (Murray)

Our family has very fond memories of visiting Gene and Sue in Hawaii. Our girls loved to be with him. He was an avid surfer with his dog "Boomer"and an intrepid paraglider even in his 70´s which was so impressive. His orchids were incredible. Missing Gene very much.

When i went to sterling elem school he was one of the teachers that show me how to love running . Always listen to me help me to make good choices, what a great man so kind. I remember going over to his place in sterling helping remove lower tree branches to clean up his land.

My condolences to Sue and the rest of the family. He was certainly a man of many interests and experiences. We should all follow his example and enjoy all that life has to offer. Rest in peace Gene.

I remember him as being one of the teachers everyone wanted at Sterling Elementary/Junior High. He and his wife had been gracious hosts showing their fantastic green house. Everyone loved him.
