Not sure what to say?

He was the best. I had him for 2 1/3 years at Trinity. I became a European historian thanks to him. I considered him immortal. I cannot believe his passing. I am extremely sad and upset.

He was one of my favorite teachers at Trinity and I am proud to have been one of his stu-dents. Rest well and I'll see you on the boat, Mr. Eckert.

Mr. Eckert's class is always a highlight when my brothers and I remember back on Trinity. He truly made an impression unlike any other, and it was a privilege to have been his student. My condolences to his family.

My deepest sympathy to his family. My son (Cyrus Felfeli '13) had him as a teacher at THS. An amazing teacher that cared for his students and motivated them to succeed. The world is a better place because of his time on earth!

Mr Eckert was a true gentleman and one of my sons favorite teachers at Trinty. Well respected by his students and peers. Sorry to hear of his passing.

"Leave us not be facetious, Lad!" I can still hear him, even nearly 40 years after having his class. One of the best teachers I have been blessed to have known. Godspeed and good rest.
