Gene led Ken Doane, Mark Zoller and myself (Gordon Messick) on our first of 18 hunting trips into the Idaho Bitterroot/Selway Wilderness area With his two sons. Gene was a very good guide and teacher. Many GREAT memories including Gene's sons treed two Bear Cubs. when we found out we panicked as the mother had to be very close and they missed being attacked by Mom. lots of other great memories.
