Eugene Fletcher

Eugene Fletcher Parker, who I always knew as "Gene", and I went to public schools together from third grade through high school in LaGrange, Georgia. We were school boy safety patrolmen,helping our fellow students cross busy streets on the way to school. I really enjoyed the time we spent together. Gene was a customer of mine at Play It Again Sports in Roswell. Great man, great human! I always looked forward to his stories and adventures. He was into so many things. When he told me he was moving to Bend and wanted to volunteer as a Park Ranger, I was not suprised. God speed good friend. You're paddling in the big river of Light now!

I enjoyed working with Gene for many years at both Southern Bell and BellSouth. His wit and humor as well as his vast knowledge about so many different things made our conversations very interesting. He was a very polite and considerate man. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
