I've known Eugene since that fateful day we met at Mary Ross Taylor's bookstore on Bissonnet where Ntozake Shange was signing For Colored Girls...book. We both had just moved to Houston (in my case, back to Houston) and he was surprised that I knew who Romare Bearden was and from then on the friendship was off and running. We've connected at various art scenes/fairs/shows in NY/LA/Chicago/Houston including coproducing a celebration for Margaret Burroughs in Houston. He was a great running...
