Not sure what to say?

Mr. Fox was my science teacher at GLRHS in the early 90's. He made the class fun and enjoyable for us that did not have interest in science. I had the pleasure to speaking with him on several occasions outside of school years later, and he was still that same quirky yet fun guy I remembered from HS. Out of all of my teachers through the years, Mr. Fox is one that I can say left a good impression on me. My thoughts and prayers to his family, RIP Mr. Fox.

He was my teacher and friend back at GLRHS in the mid 70s. I loved his quirkiness and brilliance. He was a great supporter of the Highlander Band. He embraced students whole heartedly. And at a time when girls weren’t exactly encouraged to go into Science, he did the opposite. I would end up in the USCG with a degree in Marine Science in large part because of Mr Fox. I always hoped I would get the chance to thank him for all he did for me. To his family- please accept my condolences on...

I just found this cruising Facebook. I graduated GL in 1969 only knowing Mr Fox as 'the other chemistry teacher.' Returned in '93 or '94 for a step son's back to school night. Discovered Gene Fox as a smart contemporary interested in recycling and passionate about learning. He retired with so much more to learn and teach: a mentor to many.

I am so sad to hear of Gene's passing. He was a special man, unique, so smart. He was a real treasure. Wonderful to work with. Very giving. My condolences to his family and friends. Diane K

I will never forget traveling with Gene to a water monitoring station in a nearby town where he volunteered. He was very attuned to the area and its wildlife. Rest easy, Gene... you did a great job and people admired you!

Mr. Fox was my biology teacher at GL and he got me started down the path of a biologist. I majored in biology in college and went to veterinary school. Thank you Mr. Fox. Rest well. My deepest condolences to your family. A life well lived!

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Extending my condolences to Mr Fox's family. While I never had Mr Fox as my teacher while at GL, I did have a locker next to his classroom door for four years. He always stepped out of his classroom to day hello each morning. He taught me a lot about the importance of a friendly greeting and taking the time to check in. He was very kind.
