Not sure what to say?

I played bridge against Gene a number of times -- most notably for me, the very first club championship at the then brand new Beverly Hills Bridge Club (6-7-92). He typified the ability to combine championship competitiveness with mannered kindness.

Days before his death, he modified the prose that one would read as his BBO profile (bridgebase.com). It included the phrase "any day now." He knew just how terribly limited our enjoyment of his company was.

Dr. Freed will be missed by the enire workers' comp community, be they applicant or defense oriented. As a physician, I've referred hundreds of patients to him. His diagnoses were always accurate; his conclusions were always reasonable. Although we never met, I've reviewed so many of his reports over the past 25+ years that I've lost a friend I could depend on.

I am saddened to hear of his passing. He was a friend to injured workers and respected by all of us in the worker compensation community.

Dr. Freed was a wonderful doctor and was always compassionate and caring to the patients.

Dr. Freed was an medical-legal expert in ENT medicine for years in workers' compensation cases. I sent client to Dr. Freed for years. He and his insightful medical opinions will be missed by all of us who relied on his medical treatment and reports.

Gene was my friend in the bridge world for 35 years. I will miss him.
