Not sure what to say?

Dear Joanne,
I'm so sorry that Gene isn't with you now. I have such good memories of the time spent with Gene at River Mill Elementary in Estacada, OR He was a wise and wonderful Irish man. We did good work at River Mill and had such fun. Gene was a good administrator. He gave people the freedom to do their best while he would oversee their work. He was honest and knew how to correct without taking someone's spirit. He was loved by many, myself included. May God Bless Gene!

Dear JoAnne, My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family in this difficult time. Gene's love of the outdoors, your many adventures, and his wonderful, professional service to kids will hopefully give you some comfort.

Mr. Harper was my fifth grade teacher at Phil Lewis Elementary School in Tigard. I have very fond memories of him and he was always my favorite grade school teacher. He also taught my older brother Geoff. He put together a Hawaiian luau for our class at the end of the year and I still look at those pictures. He was a wonderful teacher & was a great male role model for both the boys and girls at the school.

Dear Jo Ann,
So sorry to hear of Gene's passing. I have thought about the two of you so often - you both were such great docents during your winters in Hemet.
I will remember Gene, and you, in my prayers.

Dear Joanne,

I was sorry to hear of Gene's passing. He was one of my favorite City Councilors -- sharp, committed, with a great sense of humor! And he was very patient with this very young City Manager! May your many fond memories feel the emptiness you must be experiencing right now. Thoughts and prayers go out to you and all your family.

Dear Joanne,
I was sad to read of Gene's passing. He was a dear friend of my first husband, Bob Hosman. It is hard to believe that Bob has been gone now some 20 years. We had such fun at Gene's retirement from education. And I remember the fun time in Estacada at Timber Festival time and seeing your lovely home.
Thinking of you, Joanne Jay Nehler

Dear Joanne,
Sorry that you lost Gene. I lost Glynn almost two years ago so I know how you feel. Call if you get a chance at 503-639-2278.

Love, Maxine

Jim, I am so sorry to see in the paper that your dad, Gene, died. It is so hard to lose a parent. Please give my best to Jo Anne. She was a good friend to my mom, Maxine.

We will always remember the night Gene featured his "blackened chicken" recipe at dinner, also his way
of increasing the space in the grey
water tank on your motorhome. We
know you two had quite a ride
together.
