Eugene M. Hoopes, 68, of Minerva, Ohio, founder and owner of Hoopes Fertilizer Works Inc. in Rochester and Alliance, died at Cleveland Clinic on Tuesday, February 10, 2004, following a one year illness. Calling hours are scheduled for Friday, February 13, 2004, 1-3 and 6-9 p.m., at Minerva First Christian Church. Masonic services are scheduled for Friday, 5:45 p.m., at the church. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 14, 11 a.m., at the church, officiated by Mr. Ralph Norman and the Rev. Fredrick Bays. Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations are appreciated to Mexico Children's Home, Minerva First Christian Church or Church Memorial Fund, First Christian Church, c/o Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home, 206 East Lincoln Way, Minerva, OH 44657.
