Not sure what to say?

Where does one begin when it comes to expressing the upmost gratitude and appreciation for one who has influenced so many in such positive and loving ways. Gene and Darryl were the parents of the man I am married to today. They took John to raise in their home, provided memorable vacations, and over saw his educational needs. I have the greatest respect and appreciation for Gene and Darryl for a job well done. As as result of your efforts and uncondtional love, I am extremely happy in my...

Gene Japour was my second Father and best friend. He introduced me to the historical and best cullinary spots in Jacksonville, St. Augustine and even parts of Georgia. I have never seen a man get more meat from a crab(!)or have a kinder word for a complete stranger. He was an eternal optimist and stressed that your plight in life is never improved by complaining.
Having no kids of his own, Gene helped raise many - including a forty year old transplanted Texan. He and Darryl...

Gene gave of his heart. I am a grateful recipient of his a caring, generous, witty, sweet nature. I am a grateful recipient of his kindness and love. I treasure the funny stories, the teasing and I cherish his memory~

Mother Teresa said "One filled with joy preaches without preaching" That was Gene~

It has been such an honor having Gene Japour in my life. As a small child "Uncle Gene" always told me I was pretty and always made feel "special". When I married for the "1st time", Uncle Gene was right there in supprt...helping happily at the reception and loaning the beach house for the honeymoon. When I married for the "2nd time and last time", Uncle Gene was again happy and supportive for me. The day my son was baptized Uncle Gene was there. What a wonderful man! He epitomized...

Our sympathy and prayers are with you at this time in your loss. I did not personally know Gene, but worked with Darryl many years ago.

My Uncle Gene was an uncommon and unique man.

He was very positive, honest, kind, encouraging, giving, and as a result, simple in his approach to life.

He always greeted you with a warm smile and always had a kind word to share.

It was obvious to all, that he was a man who loved his wife dearly.

He was a vivid reflection of his father before him.

He never met a stranger and was quick to share a...

You have our prayers to help you at this time in your life.

Literature and the movies often portrayed the uncle as being mean to his nephews and nieces. That was definitely not the case with Uncle Gene. He was the “fun uncle” who was there to play with us and be genuinely interested in us. This involvement was not restricted to just me, but extended to my brothers and cousins, and finally my own daughters as I observed when he came to our house several weeks ago.

He does not replace my father but he...

Uncle Gene was like a father to me. I remember the famous 'short cuts', the weekends at the beach house, the driving lessons, the candy from the store, the ability to balance the 16' ladder on one finger, the tank (the one Adam talked about), and the German WW2 helmet. But what I most remember about Uncle Gene was the true love that he gave to me, my brothers, my cousin John and everyone around him. I will always remember the trips and his voice. I will miss Uncle Gene very much but I will...
