Not sure what to say?

My Great Grandfather. General Eugene Kelly. I have heard and still hear great things about this man, and I will always strive to become as good as a man he was. He passed away a little after was born in January 2012. I never knew he was as great as I've heard until now, and I want to thank everybody who wrote about him. It really made me feel overjoyed because I know that he lives inside of me, so that I cab become a great person like him.

I had the great honor of serving as BG Kelley´s Aide de Camp for 18 months. He, more than any other person, shaped me as an Army officer. He was my commander, my boss, my mentor, my friend and the only true hero I have ever known. I was truly blessed when I met him.

General Kelley was a great help and inspiration to me when a young man. I was blessed to have known and spent time with him. I am saddened to know of his passing. I knew him through his son, Gene, whom I would love to be in contact with.

We jumped together, drank together, laughed together and sang Gaelic songs together. I will miss him. Eugene A. Lessman,
CW3 US Army (Retired)

I met Gene in 1992 at Martin Marietta where we both worked. It was there that we became good friends. We traded Army stories, but his were always better than mine. We spoke frequently about the Korean War Veterans Memorial, with which he was intimately involved. I had fun traveling with him to Fort Huachuca, where he was my official tour guide and an expert of little known facts about the post. On other occasions, we frequently talked about family, and family outings. I especially remember...

On behalf of the Special Forces Association, we would like to thank General Kelley for his service with the 5th Special Forces Group in Vietnam, the US Army, and to his country.

"I was introduced to General Kelley and Doris Kelley in the early 70's, both were charming and down to earth, I learned a lot about the closeness of the Military way of life from them. "
Edie Hughes (Hampton, Va.)

In the early 70's,General Kelley (then a Colonel) was my CO as commander of the 66th MI Group in Munich. At the time, this unit was probably the largest military intelligence unit in the world. His promotion to General may have been as a direct result of his leadership in that organization. He was a strategic thinker who understood the "big picture" and gave his subordinates the latitude to accompish the Groups' mission. Back then, it was really tough to make General in the intelligence...

What a great guy -- he had the utmost respect from his family and those who served with him. I feel blessed that He and his beautiful wife, Doris, were a big part of my and my late husband, Jack's journey through life. God bless.
