Not sure what to say?

I have known him all my life, being the first grandchild. I cant say that we were close through my childhood. However I have two strong memories of him.
First was a hunting trip, for duck I think. We didn't come home with anything, but a stick with preying mantis eggs. He told me how this little thing was going to hatch 300 babies and I was just fascinated with that.
Next would be holidays with him sleeping in his recliner. If one of us kids managed to change the tv, he would always...

I remember the first time we had a meal together. I asked if you minded if I said grace. You hesitated, then said it was okay. When I had finished the brief grace, you said you had an uncle who often took half of an hour to say grace. We had a good chuckle.
I still have a coke for you in my refrigerator. You are missed.

May you rest in peace Gene. Give Ann hugs for me.

I don't recall when I first met you through my husband, Koney.
I know you were friends and I was happy you were a part of
our congregation when I first started coming. You knew so much history and information and like Koney, such a engineer at heart. You were a very determined guy never giving up in the face of diversity. My you share with God and the angels now continuing to enjoy family and friends from your past. Bonnie Archuleta

I worked with Gene for many years, beginning with the venerable Division of Highways. He was always easy-going and friendly. Also a good engineer. Rest in Peace.
